Community Service Opportunities

There is a need for help with raking leaves, cutting grass and shoveling snow in front of the church and in the parking lot. You or your organization can contact us to fulfill a project.

We will provide your club or organization or individual with a letter of gratitude on your behalf.

Mildred Austell-Honored Leader

Mildred Austell and her husband, Irvin, have been members of ECHO, Inc., since 2002. They have traveled on many of ECHO's trips even though Mildred just retired in 2010. Mildred worked for the New Jersey Division of Pensions and Benefits, where she was a Shop Steward. She gave 41 years of service! She also worked for the CWA Union for 5 years.

In February 2014, she was elected to the Board of Directors, filling the unexpired term of Jean Oliver, Director-at-Large, who retired from the Board in 2013.

As a member serving on the Trip Committee, Mildred has helped to fill buses for many of ECHO's trips. Since retiring, she has also become a member of ECHO's Purple Hats Society. In February 2016, she enhanced her computer skills by attending the Computer Class taught by Jean Battaglia.

Mildred has three children: Michael, the oldest, Karen and Lamont. Mildred is also a grandmother!

She was the second "Baby Boomer" to join the Board of Directors, representing a new and evolving generation of ECHO's Energetic Citizens Helping Others!!
